Refund &
Cancellation
Policy
This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations are handled and the limited circumstances in which refunds may apply to design services provided by Draftlure Studio. Because our work is custom and time-based, this policy reflects the realities of bespoke creative work. It should be read together with our Terms of Service.
1. The nature of our services
Draftlure Studio provides custom design services that are produced specifically for each client. The value of our work lies in the time, expertise, and creative effort invested from the moment a project begins. Unlike a stock product, a bespoke design cannot be returned once it has been created, and our policy on fees reflects this.
2. Initial payments and deposits
Most engagements require an initial payment before work commences. This payment reserves time in our schedule, covers the discovery and concept stages, and confirms your commitment to the project. Because it secures resources that cannot easily be reallocated, the initial payment is generally non-refundable once work has begun, except as described below.
3. Cancellation by the client
You may cancel an engagement at any time by notifying the studio in writing. Upon cancellation, you remain responsible for fees corresponding to all work completed and time committed up to the date we receive your notice, including any stages already underway. Where the amount paid exceeds the value of work completed, we will discuss an equitable resolution in good faith.
4. Cancellation by the studio
In rare circumstances, the studio may need to end an engagement — for example, where collaboration has broken down, where required materials or approvals are not provided within a reasonable time, or where continuing would be impractical. In such cases, you will be billed only for work completed to date, and any payment received in excess of that amount will be returned to you.
5. Payment for work completed
Fees are earned progressively as a project moves through its stages. At the point of cancellation, we will assess the proportion of the agreed scope that has been completed — including discovery, concept development, and composition work — and determine the amount properly payable for that work. Drafts and working files produced up to that point remain the property of the studio unless full payment for the relevant stage has been made.
6. When refunds may apply
A refund may be considered where you have made a payment for work that the studio has not yet begun, or where an amount paid clearly exceeds the value of the work completed at the time of cancellation. Any refund is limited to the portion of fees that does not correspond to work already performed or time already committed.
7. What is not refundable
The following are not eligible for refund: initial payments once discovery or concept work has commenced; fees for completed stages that have been delivered or approved; additional work requested and carried out beyond the original scope; and any third-party costs incurred on your behalf with your authorisation. Dissatisfaction that arises after work has been delivered in line with the agreed brief does not, by itself, create an entitlement to a refund.
8. How to request a refund
To request a refund, please contact the studio in writing using the details below, describing the engagement, the payment concerned, and the reason for your request. We aim to acknowledge requests promptly and to review each one fairly, taking account of the work completed and the terms agreed at the outset.
9. Processing approved refunds
Where a refund is approved, it will be issued using the original payment method where practicable, within a reasonable period after approval. Any bank or processing timelines that apply are outside the studio's control. We will confirm the amount and method of any approved refund in writing.
10. Changes to scope
Adjustments to the scope of a project — additional screens, further revision rounds, or new directions — are quoted and agreed separately before they are undertaken. Fees for such additional work follow the same principles set out in this policy and are payable for work completed even where the wider project is later cancelled.
11. Effect on deliverables and ownership
Ownership of final design deliverables transfers only upon receipt of full payment, as described in our Intellectual Property Policy. Where an engagement is cancelled before full payment, rights in the work remain with the studio, and you may not use, reproduce, or implement unfinished or unpaid deliverables.
12. Chargebacks
We ask that any concern about fees be raised with the studio directly so that we can resolve it together. Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may delay resolution. We reserve the right to respond to chargeback claims with documentation of the work completed and the terms agreed.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, identified by the date above. The policy in effect at the time your engagement is confirmed governs that engagement.
